Curie Preschool was born from a simple belief: every child is a natural scientist, artist, and explorer. We built a school worthy of that belief.

To provide a nurturing, rigorous, and inquiry-driven educational environment that fosters intellectual curiosity, critical thinking, creativity, character development, and a lifelong love of learning.
Our educational program is built around Curie's own STEAM++ Curriculum — a hands-on, inquiry-driven framework that has been a defining part of Curie since our founding. We continue to strengthen our educational model through research-based resources and practices, including STREAMin³ in applicable Early Preschool through Pre-K classrooms, and Creative Curriculum resources being incorporated into our toddler and Early Preschool programs at both campuses.
Our facilities across our South Riding and Herndon campuses provide the perfect environment for children to explore, create, and grow — surrounded by educators who genuinely love what they do.
Thirteen Years, Two Campuses
Curie Preschool opened in South Riding in 2013 with a simple belief: every child is a natural scientist, artist, and explorer. Families told other families, and in 2016 we opened a second campus in Herndon. Thirteen years later, we have had the privilege of welcoming hundreds of families across both campuses — and we continue to grow, welcoming children from 18 months through Kindergarten.
You may know us by our former name, The Madame Curie School of Science & Technology. We simplified our name to Curie Preschool — same school, same dedicated team, same approach to learning that families have trusted since 2013.

Curie Preschool is committed to continuous school improvement through thoughtful curriculum development, educator professional learning, child assessment, family partnership, safety planning, and reflective practice.
Both Curie Preschool campuses participate in Virginia's VQB5 Quality Measurement and Improvement System and are Virginia Child Care Subsidy Program providers.

Curie Preschool is an official Candidate for Accreditation with the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools and is committed to the principles of quality and continuous improvement reflected throughout the accreditation process.
